The initial idea was to make at least one pair of “eyes” track viewers’ movement and respond with a change in the position of an eye, that was supposed to strengthen the feeling of being uncomfortable, being watched and judged.
I was inspired by following sources:

Having looked into the possible ways of programming the eye to track and react to motion, I found 2 possible ways:
- using Kinect sensor (that I ordered from ebay),
- using web camera,
Unfortunately, both ways did not work out.
As an alternative, I considered using press pads. As I wanted a direct connection between a viewer and the reaction from the eye. But pressing pads did not work out due to technical issues as well as the act of triggering them was too deliberate, destroying the gist of the installation, as every movement should feel uncomfortable without any particular reason.
Consequently, I decided to change the approach to presentation. I reevaluated the importance of eyes being triggered and I came to the conclusion that the priority should be the creation of the environment with the right atmosphere. It is the feeling of alienation that is prime and it can be reached without the usages of sensors.
So I came to the conclusion that eyes moving uncontrollably and in an unexpected way can create a powerful enough aura of coldness and being unwelcome.
