Having done several trials of projecting into the “eye”, I faced the problem of how to place the eye in the best way possible. During trials in the studio I tried a range of things:
I tried to sew the plastic eye to the carton rolls, etc.
But the most feasible way of dealing with this situation was through using boxes.
Owing to the fact that I went back home to Belarus,I was able to look for the right boxes around the house. I was lucky enough to find enough of them, I sprayed them with black colour in order to minimize their visibility in the dark space of the installation, so that they would not distract the audience from the important parts.I did the same with the chopsticks.
So I plan on gluing “eyes” to these boxes and in order to make sure that they stay in place I also prepared these chopsticks that I would thrust through the boxes, so that the ends of them would be support for the “eyes”.
